The Fourth Row
The fourth row also contains mostly letters.


  • To type lower-case letters, just press the keys.
  • To type capital letters, hold down a Shift key (which is on the FIFTH ROW ) with one hand and press keys with the other hand.
Type several capital letters here:
  1. Use the mouse to place the arrow pointer on the box above. When the arrow becomes an "I", click the left mouse button.
  2. With one hand, hold down a Shift key.
  3. With the other hand, press a letter key.
  4. Type several of capital letters.
The key on the far left is the Caps Lock key.
When Caps L is on, a green light appears on the keyboard. Press the Caps lock On & OFF and look for the indicator light.
When the caps lock in ON the keyboard will type CAPITAL LETTERS.


NOTE:-
YOU STILL NEED TO HOLD DOWN THE SHIFT KEY TO TYPE THE UPPER CHARACTERS, FOR EXAMPLE ON ROW TWO. !"£$%^&*()_+
Try out the Caps Lock:
  1. Press Caps Lock
  2. Look for the green light on the keyboard.
  3. Type some CAPITAL LETTERS ( UPPER CASE ) then some numbers from row 2, then hold down the shift key and type some numbers again from row 2.
  4. Type here:
  5. Turn "caps lock" off by pressing Caps Lock again.
  6. Look at the green light. It should be out.
  7. Type some more. The letters are small letters now, Lower Case.

The key on the far right has a tilde: ~ as the upper character
and a hash sign: # as the lower character.

Tilde is used in some addresses of Web pages.

Type several tildes and hash signs here:
  1. Use the mouse to place the arrow pointer on the box above.
  2. When the arrow becomes an "I", click the mouse button.
  3. With your right hand, hold down the right Shift key.
  4. With your left hand, press the tilde key.
  5. Type several of them.
When wordprocessing,
Enter or Return acts like the carriage return on an electric typewriter. Try it.
  1. Type a sentence in the box below.

    Remember to click in the box before typing.

  2. Press Enter or Return
  3. The vertical line jumps down to the beginning of the next line.
  4. Type more words.
